Blogging101: Cannonball Into the Community Pool!

Hi again!

Well, it’s day 3 of the course and today’s assignment involved learning how to navigate the community of the blog-o-sphere. Now, being honest, I never really went in search of other blogs or people. I actually kinda just hoped they would come to me rather than me having to go to them. I have learned today, however, that that kind of thinking is what stifles the growth of one’s blog and place in the blog-o-sphere. We have to get up and look around! How else will we know what’s out there?

Anyway, the assignment was to follow 5 topics and 5 blogs. I had already started following topics but not blogs. I met the requirements for today’s assignment which was easy enough. For me, the topics were what helped me find others but I still haven’t quite narrowed down exactly what I want to find or whatever. As it stands, my topics are general but I will eventually narrow them down. As for the blogs, well, I was pleasantly surprised to find what I found. It’s rather interesting browsing over others’ thoughts and existences. I found people who have similar qualities that I have and who even touched my heart. There was one blogger in particular: Roguecatt. Now, I haven’t delved too deeply into her blog posts yet but, that won’t stop me from at least saying she has something special going on.

Yes, it seems that today’s assignment, although seemingly trivial, was quite enlightening. The community is what makes blogging worth it. After all, it’s one thing to voice your opinion into existence and another to do so amongst many possibly listening people.

I think that’s all I have to say about that. Well, until next time, cheers!
